“Talking about death won’t kill you”

Aspire4Life is a proud sponsor of this extraordinary film-led campaign Live the Life you Please which honestly discusses palliative care and death. And to quote the film, “Talking about death won’t kill you” – and it doesn’t.

Two of the storylines featured in the film were captured in Coffs Harbour, and produced in close collaboration with our Aspire4Life team.

About the Film

Live the Life you Please will premiere in cinemas across Australia from May 22nd, and with sessions in over 50 cinemas there’s sure to be one close to your home.

Told by medical professionals, patients and their families, it is an intimate portrait of the end-of-life experience and makes profound observations about life, death and what happens in between.

Live the Life You Please boasts a treasure trove of incredible stories captured all around Australia, from cities and regional centres to remote communities. It will make you smile, laugh, laugh harder and occasionally shed a tear as it shares the stories of a diverse range of Australians experiencing their last chapter.

Aspire4Life’s Involvement

The team behind the film first reached out to Aspire4Life’s Practice Lead, Alison Vella in 2021 as they felt our values aligned. Alison has personally supported loved ones on their palliative journey. Alison connected Julie and Aspire4Life’s Rani Foreman to be involved directly in the film. We’re proud to be associated with such caring and compassionate people.

Palliative Care is more than medicine

Their powerful stories will show you that palliative care is more than medicine. It’s about quality of life. It’s about providing physical, social, emotional and spiritual support to patients and their loved ones.

It’s about embracing every moment and living the life you please until the very end.

Join us in celebrating Palliative Care Week 2023 by seeing the film at a cinema near you.
